Museum of Oxford
Information
A museum of relics showing the history of the city of Oxford, and its growth through time, the Museum of Oxford is one of the only museums of Oxford’s history that focuses on the town rather than the university. It can be found in the town hall (a historic building itself), up a flight of steps and is easily accessible by bus or by car, but unfortunately cannot cater for wheelchair users due to the stairs. The museum focuses on the history of Oxford, archaeological remains, and the distinctive architecture. These topics are explained with exhibits of historic paintings and room dioramas. A virtual tour is also available, as well as guided ones. There is also a gift shop.
